There has been a shooting range, at Milnain beside Strathpeffer, for many years but it was in 1968 that Major Fred Hoare obtained the Home Office approval for the range to be used by the Strathpeffer Rifle and Pistol Club.
The club now regularly shoot every Sunday throughout the year except Remembrance Sunday.
If we are not shooting at Milnain then we will be using the range, at Cawdor, which belongs to our friends at the Cawdor Rifle and Gun Club.
We are keen to expand our membership so, if you are in any way interested in the shooting disciplines you see on this site please feel free to contact us either using the web link or by telephoning our Chairman or Secretary.
As you can see from the links above left we cater for all types of shooting. For most types of air rifles and air pistols you do not need a firearms certificate. To own everything else you of course do, but even if you don’t have an airgun or want to try any of our shooting disciplines, your welcome to come down have a go. We will show you how to handle a pistol or a rifle safely and responsibly and hopefully hit the target!
